Suzanne Tacheny Kubach
Suzanne Tacheny Kubach’s designs emerge from her soul and intuition—her sense of wonder. Her most recent works explore balance and movement in the style of abstract lyricism and abstracted landscapes. Some bring an atmospheric quality or mood—a sense of place—while others convey the same dynamic flow found in wood grains, veins through natural stone, or a creek bed when the water ebbs.
She works primarily in acrylic with occasional contributions from other media, such as charcoal pencil, collage, or oil pastels. She builds paintings in dozens of layers, creating rich textures and understory. Painting on birch panels enables her to sand, scratch, or scrub layers back to reveal that history of texture and color.
Suzanne is self-taught in that she’s had no formal education as an artist, though she has benefitted mightily from workshops and feedback from other generous artists, particularly as a member of the Art2Life Academy, of which she’s been a member since 2022. She lives and works in St. Paul, MN, where lush seasons and the natural environment lend much inspiration.
